We started using this machine a few days before Christmas 2010 and it quit working a few days after Christmas 2011, apparently from a faulty circuit board. At [$] I don't expect a top of the line machine, but I do expect more than a single year of life. While it worked, it delivered a good shot of espresso and a very good steamed and frothed milk (despite the wand being awkwardly placed). It was easy to use and clean and looked good on the counter. Too bad it died at such a young age. While I would recommend the machine, it would be with strong reservations.

If you've never made espresso, which I hadn't, this concept is something of an art form. I highly suggest watching the included DVD before attempting it. But, with some practice, this has become my all time favorite kitchen appliance! We use it at least daily, if not more. I swear I'm even more popular because of it! My friends love coming over! It's easy to clean and I love the design. If a machine can be "cute," this one is!

The included measure/stamp tool is suppose to be 1 scoop for 1 shot but it is NOT. The scoop is about 1 and 3/4 the amount needed for a double shot. My solution was to use a 1 tablespoon scoop for measuring, NOT the included tool.

Other than a little water leaking under the drip tray, have NOTHING negative to say about my machine. It has been used 3 or 4 times a day for last 6 months and still looks brand new. Quick wipe of frother after each use and a weekly complete wipeover is all that has been needed to keep it sparkling.
