Description

The Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker is the only combination machine with a conical burr grinder and a stainless steel thermal carafe. Just pour in the beans, program the a.m./p.m. clock/timer and the amount of coffee to be ground, and the machine does the rest! Up to 10 cups of coffee will stay hot for hours without reheating.

Programmable Clock/Timer and LCD Display: Have coffee ready anytime with the 24-hour programmable clock/timer. The high-contrast LCD display shows the time with a.m./p.m. indicator, coffee strength setting, and how many cups the machine is programmed to grind and brew. To keep the design clean and uncluttered, all programming options can be accessed with the "P" button. Just push and turn the button to find the setting you want to adjust: time, coffee volume (four, six, eight, or 10 cups), brew strength (mild, regular, or strong), or grind fineness.

Professional-Quality Burr Grinder: Choose from four fineness settings for any color of roasted bean, and the adjustable stainless steel conical grinder goes to work. The slow grinding of the burrs imparts minimal heat, preserving the flavor and aroma of the whole bean more than traditional blade grinding. Burr grinding also allows a finer, more uniform grind than blade grinders. The 80-gram-capacity bean container has a detachable see-through cover, which lets you check the flow of the grounds.

Separate Brewing Mechanism: With the Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM, grinding and brewing processes are separated, keeping moisture away from the grinder. The grinder prepares the programmed amount of beans directly into the filter, which automatically swings forward to begin the brewing process. The filter cover lid keeps statically charged ground coffee inside the filter holder, and a GoldTone Filter - ideal for extracting maximum flavor - is included. You can also use the Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM as a regular coffeemaker with pre-ground coffee. The Stop-and-Serve setting even lets you remove the carafe while brewing to serve a quick cup.

Thermal Carafe: Immediately after brewing, coffee is dispensed at a toasty 180 degrees. The Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM's stainless steel carafe keeps your coffee hot for hours after brewing, without the application of flavor-flattening heat. Coffee is brewed directly into the carafe through the closed lid. To serve, simply turn the dot on the lid to the pouring spout. After serving, close the lid again to preserve the coffee's temperature, aroma, and fresh-brewed taste.

Stainless steel accents, an elegant, illuminated black-on-white display, a variety of useful features, and a simple one-button programming design make the Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM the most sophisticated coffee maker/burr grinder combination machine on the market.

While I am about to buy my first Capresso Therm, I had the opportunity to taste coffee from one today in comparison to a Krupps and a Bunn. The Conical Burr Grinder is excellent and you can taste a difference in the coffee. Also, several vendors have told me that customer support is excellent and they will not leave you out in the cold.I use RO water for my coffee, which has all impurities taken out, including some minerals that cause deposits, but it does make a difference. If you buy a Capresso, get one from either the internet or a dealer you know and trust. The Capresso Therm is an excellent deal for [$] For those of you who like flavored coffees you will have to add the flavor to the caraffe and not use flavored beans. This is all outlined in the users manual which you can download as a PDF from Capresso[@].There is also a handy video on it and if and when you purchase one, a DVD is also included.

I have used the Capresso Coffee Team S-454 maker and predecessors for about 8 years and Loved it!!! Bought many for friends and family as a gift.

However, this new model is very disappointing. Bulky and oddly designed. Firstly, the bean storage is very small (about 1/3 the size of the S-454-- enough to brew MAYBE 2 pots of coffee.
Additionally, the Stainless insulated carafe, although it has some benefits, is difficult to clean - the opening is too small to fit your hand in and you have to rely on a brush -- difficult to get under the opening. I was used to filling the clear glass carafe of the S-454 with water to the desired level, well, as this is stainless, you can't tell how much water you have and have to really depend on the plastic guide on the fill tank. Filling is akward to pour and view contents. The coffee is dispensed hot, although the plate does not heat, the maker depends on the insulated stainless carafe to keep hot without assistance -- OK, but good for maybe one hour. I haven't seen my coffee dispense as hot as it claims.

I think I will send this very expensive model back and resume with my reasonably priced and much loved S-454.

Comments about Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker with Grinder:

Temperature of coffee is hot the previous coffe maker I used was a grind and brew from Cusinart, the Cappresso is head and tails better than the Cusinart, coffee is hot, grind is better and brew is more flavorful.
I reccomend this machine to all. Only wish it had a bigger pot.

Comments about Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker with Grinder:

Owned the previous "plastic" model for the past few years. As someone who drinks coffee daily and appreciates a full-bodied roast, this machine is the pinnacle of success! It doesn't get any better than Capresso!

Its simple to use, stylish, and brews a darn good cup of jo. The swing-out model works the best and is the easiest to clean. I buy Starbucks beans and put filtered water in the machine. Works like a champ! :)

You can buy a "cheaper" machine but you get what you pay for...and honestly, if you fix your coffee like I do, you'll save money because you won't have a need for Starbucks at $4 a cup.

One more thing...heat the carraf with hot water first, it helps to keep it HOT longer.

Recommend Bon Jor's stainless whisker to whip your cream into your coffee...mmmmmm.

Comments about Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker with Grinder:

I have had the older Coffee Team Plus for many years with the Burr grinder and it makes great coffee. It finally reached end of life so I ordered the Coffee Therm 465. It brews a great cup of coffee and is very attractive but it arrived with two rows of pixels on the display that would not light up, so it was unreadable. I also noted that the basket did not consistently return to the proper position which would have caused water and grinds to overflow on to the counter if it had gone unnoticed. I am returning this one and hoping to have better luck with the newer model. Coffee Therm TS.

Comments about Capresso 455 CoffeeTEAM Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker with Grinder:

The Capresso 455 was a birthday gift from my wife, and it has turned out to be a great buy. It makes great coffee, it's convenient in terms of use, and it's not too complicated (warning: you should read the instruction book). Downsides:it's angled awkwardly, so you need to store it in a fairly open place in order to see the water level and keep it centered; more importantly, the been container is too small and I can't seem to find any accessories to replace it with a larger one. I make between 6 and 8 cups of strong coffee each morning, so the bean container goes empty within two uses. Ideally, I'd like to pour a half-pound or more of beans into the container and not worry about it for a week or two. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a deal breaker. I highly recommend this product.
