About Proctor Silex
When the Proctor and Silex companies of Proctor & Schwarz Electric and the Silex Company, a manufacturer of coffee makers and irons, merged in 1920, the result was a successful way to offer consumers a wide array of appliances. The new company, known as the Proctor-Silex Corporation had many firsts: the first silent toaster, first electric glass coffeemaker, first cord-attached iron, first toaster oven/broiler, first pop-up toaster/toaster oven, first adjustable automatic iron, first snap-apart line of serviceable kitchen appliances, and first see-through steam iron water tank. In 1990 the two powerhouse appliance manufacturers of Hamilton Beach and Proctor-Silex were brought together by NACCO Industries.     Just the color and Price I wanted

    I love the red color,but the gray color on the bottom of the maker should be red in color also. I like a clock on my coffee maker to be lit and this one doesn't have a light. Also I was a wee bit disappointed at the look of the aluminum faceplate on the maker. The coffee pot boasts a pretty and shiney chrome band around the pot but when you look at the whole maker and see the faceplate looking dull it takes away from the rest of the maker. It doesn't lay flat to the maker and is rippled. Other than that I am very pleasde with the Protor Silex product and would reccomend to friends. A simple change would make the difference on this product. If changes were made I'd gladly pay more for the product enhancement.
